App comparison

The right app depends on what you need: daily practice, detailed scores, interview role-play or accent work. We compared six apps on what you actually practice, the feedback you get, price and platforms.
Disclosure: Vozie publishes this page and Vozie is one of the apps listed. We've tried to describe every app fairly and to say plainly where another app is the better fit. Prices come from each company's website in October 2026 unless noted, are in US dollars, and can change.

How to choose a public speaking app
- Pick the job first. A wedding toast next month, weekly team updates, job interviews and an accent you want to soften need different tools.
- Make sure you speak out loud. Reading tips doesn't change how you sound. The app should get you talking in the first minute.
- Look for specific feedback. “Great job!” doesn't help. Look for counts (filler words, pace, pauses) and one concrete thing to try next.
- Be honest about time. An app you open for five minutes every day beats a course you abandon in week two.
- Use the trial on a real task. Practice the actual talk or answer you're worried about and see whether the feedback helps.
How we compared
We looked at each app's own website and app store listing for what you practice, the type of feedback, platforms and published prices. We left out apps that appear on older lists but are no longer available. Features and prices change, so check the app's site before you buy.

Questions people ask
Are there apps that help you speak better?
Yes. Public speaking apps record you speaking, then give feedback on things like pace, filler words and clarity. The ones above differ mainly in what you practice: daily games (Vozie), scored scenarios (Orai), guided courses (Speeko), role-play (Yoodli) or accent work (BoldVoice).
Are there free public speaking apps?
Most offer a free trial or a few free sessions, then a subscription. Yoodli has 5 free sessions; Vozie, Orai, Speeko and BoldVoice have free trials. For free practice without an app, use a timer and a phone recording, or our free speaking tools.
Can an app replace Toastmasters or a coach?
Not fully. Apps are best for frequent, private repetition and objective numbers. A club or coach adds a live audience and human judgment. Many people use an app for daily practice and a club or coach for the occasional real audience.
